Our support for Ukraine

Like so many of you, we are shocked and saddened by the situation unfolding in Ukraine, and we stand with the international community in calling for peace. Helping others have always been part of our core values, and we have therefore launched efforts internally to support the wider humanitarian need in the region.

As the Bata Company, we want to express our unity with the Ukrainian people, our colleagues, and their loved ones. Helping others have always been part of our core values, and we have therefore launched efforts internally to support the wider humanitarian need in the region.

• We are doing this by matching employee donations made to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to help provide immediate and essential support.
• These efforts come on top of product donation activities, including thousands of winter shoes and clothing, which we are currently organizing for displaced people and Ukrainians in need.
• We are also providing a team of professional psychotherapists who speak Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian and have volunteered to provide long-term support to our employees and their families

Children in particular are the ones who suffer in such circumstances. Through the Bata Shoe Foundation and our Bata Children’s Program, we are also providing humanitarian assistance to help kids who have been displaced to refugee centres in Ukraine and across the region. In that spirit, we are organizing employee volunteering activities next week to help kids in refugee centres in Zlin and Prague.
