Bata South Africa and Standard Bank Group embark on a donation drive

As part of our Bata Children’s Program, we are thrilled to announce that @Bata South Africa partnered with the @Standard Bank Group, one of the four major banks in South Africa, to provide school shoes to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Did you know that over 7 million South African children do not have school shoes? This means that many of them have to walk long distances to get to school, which can be a significant barrier to education.

To kick off our mission, we joined forces with Rhodes University Community Engagement (RUCE) to distribute school shoes to children at Khutliso Daniels Secondary School in South Africa, earlier this year.

Michael Wyatt, Country Manager at Bata South Africa, explained: “One of the main pillars in our purpose strategy is to engage in meaningful partnerships with brands who share our values and equally aim to make a difference in the lives of people who need our assistance the most. Whether it’s donating shoes, building new schools and classrooms, or running support initiatives throughout the year, Bata believes strongly in working together, and in tackling global concerns locally, to create a brighter future, today.”

Together with the Standard Bank Group, we are embarking on a donation drive to raise awareness and funds for school shoes to raise as much awareness and donations as possible.
