Bata Redefines the Ballerina with Marco Rambaldi at Milan Fashion Week

Lausanne, February 27, 2025 – For the finale of its 130th-anniversary celebrations, Bata partners with designer Marco Rambaldi at Milan Fashion Week to redefine the ballerina. Known for his bold, yet artisanal approach, Rambaldi customizes the iconic Bata 130th Anniversary Ballerina, merging tradition with contemporary edge.

Taking center stage in seven runway exits, the ballerina is transformed through Rambaldi’s unique perspective. His talent for reshaping classics aligns seamlessly with Bata’s commitment to modern, yet timeless, everyday wear.

"The ballerina is an emblem of grace and strength. I wanted to push its boundaries, infusing it with emotion, modernity, and a rebellious spirit while respecting its timeless essence," said Marco Rambaldi.

This project echoes Bata’s mission to reimagine the ballerina for modern life. The collaboration is part of Make Your Way, the Bata brand campaign supporting women across various disciplines.

The Evolution of the Ballerina

Originally launched in September 2024 in partnership with Accademia del Teatro alla Scala Milano, the Bata 130 Ballerina is a fusion of heritage craftsmanship and modern design, inspired by Batovka, an original design from year 1897 and it proudly supports women in dance.

A New Era for Bata

Beyond the runway, this partnership marks a new chapter for Bata. From Milan to the world, the ballerina takes a bold step forward. And this is just the beginning: other inspiring ballerinas will be launched in 2025 to consolidate Bata as the go-to destination for consumers seeking fashionable, comfortable yet accessible ballerinas.
