Interview with Inderpreet Singh

Hello all! I am Inderpreet Singh, E-commerce Director for the Asia Pacific region – responsible for FA2A Business in APAC region.This exciting role is still quite new for me,but it adds enthusiasm and a new learning to eachday! I’ve been building my career at Bata since 2009 and every role held at Bata enriched my competences, be it my last role in Indonesia as Country Manager or as Head of Retail in India or as Country Manager in Sri Lanka, or all the Retail positions held during the first years of my career at Bata India.

It’s an exciting time to be working in E-commerce, as we bring the “digital transformation” and our new omni-channel platforms to all our Bata Markets.We aim at a smooth and effective rollout in these markets to maximize our digital growth. It’s truly a group effort, involving our E-Commerce, IT, Marketing, Product and Merchandising teams, and I appreciate contributions of each and all towards this growth journey.

This is not my first role that has involved leading our Bata markets in a digital era. At BataIndonesia our focus was on modernizing the Bata brand to appeal to new and younger audiences. We launched initiatives like Bata ChatShop, Live streaming, and social selling to widen our reach during Covid times. The development of the “North Star” and “Bata Red Label” helped us to achieve our goal of improving brand perception and reaching out to new consumers through a mix of online and offline campaigns. 

Advancing our brand and growing sales is hard and challenging work, but it’s also the most rewarding part of my job. Working hard to reach targetswith a passionate team makes coming to work truly enjoyable. I am constantly impressed by the people working around me exuberating the Bata spirit.

What’s more, I am always looking forward to work with innovative leaders having a ‘can do’ attitude. These attitudes allied to best-in-class technical abilities – often learned in our ongoing training processes - are all behind ourFA2A success.We hire people who not only share OUR VALUES, but who commit to them and contribute and enrich our company culture.
