Bata Kenya Country Manager, Ms. Jeddidah Thotho participated in the celebration of the infrastructural transformation for St Kizito Litein School for the deaf in Kericho County.

It is with great honor that the Bata Kenya Country Manager, Ms. Jeddidah Thotho participated in the celebration of the infrastructural transformation for St Kizito Litein School for the deaf in Kericho County yesterday, courtesy of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor, Dr. Patrick Njoroge.

Her Excellency, the First Lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta was the chief guest and urged Kenyans to support children living with disabilities to actualize their full potential.

There are an estimated 34 million deaf children worldwide and 80% of those deaf children live in low or middle-income countries. “Together we can overcome social and educational barriers that hold deaf children and young special needs members of society back from reaching their full potential” Said Ms. Jeddidah.

The Central Bank of Kenya has been in a partnership with St. Kizito’s Litein School for the Deaf since 2016. The partnership involves CBK helping to renovate classrooms, dormitories and other facilities, as well as giving the school a new look. During this event, all students were fitted with new school shoes and socks from Bata Shoes Kenya PLC.
